In yet another tragic incident, at least 13 Amarnath pilgrims were injured after a minibus on Thursday rammed into a truck near Birma Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur.

"Thirteen Amarnath pilgrims injured after the minibus they were travelling in rammed into a parked truck near Birma Bridge in Udhampur," the news agency ANI reported.

While all injured pilgrims were rushed to nearby District hospital, the driver of the minibus fled the spot. However, the injured pilgrims are now safe and out of danger.

All the necessary help was provided to the pilgrims, most of whom belong to Jhansi and surrounding parts of Uttar Pradesh, Jitendra Singh, Udhampur MP and MoS PMO told ANI.

Talking about the same SSP Udhamur said, "2-3 people are seriously injured but all the 13 people are stable".

Earlier on Monday, two Amarnath pilgrims died and five others were injured in a road accident at Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A volunteer also died due to cardiac arrest at Sheshnag, taking the death toll in this year’s pilgrimage to as many as 17.
