New Delhi:

Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday constituted a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the view of Amarnath Yatra terror attack. The team will be headed by DIG South Kashmir, SP Pani.

At least seven pilgrims were and 19 others injured after terrorists opened fire on a bus in Bantigoo area of Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. Terrorists attacked the bus when a police party was escorting them.

At 8.20 pm on Monday, the militants attacked an armoured car of the police, an official said. When the police fired back, the militants fled, firing indiscriminately, the official added.

Ministry of Home Affairs called an emergency meeting and the security was beefed up in the Jammu and Kashmir. A high alert was also issued.
