Blowing the poll bugle for the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah headed for a public meeting at Mahabubnagar on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference in the capital city of Hyderabad, Shah said, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao earlier pitched PM Narendra Modi’s idea of One Nation One Election but now has changed his mind, forcing unnecessary expenses for two polls.
“I want to ask Telangana CM, why have you put such an expense on the people of Telangana,” the BJP president asked.
Being confident of the BJP’s win in Telangana Assembly Elections Shah further said, “BJP will fight on all seats in Telangana and emerge as a strong and decisive force in the state: BJP President Amit Shah in Hyderabad”.
Training his gun on the Telangana government over its reservation process, Shah asked KCR, “Is it not appeasement politics to propose 12% reservation for the minority? They know that our constitution does not allow reservation based on religion”.

“If the same govt comes back to power, vote bank politics will continue in the state,” the BJP president went on to claim further.
Referring to the Centre’s contribution to the welfare of the state, Shah said, “Under the 13th Finance Commission, Telangana got Rs 16,597 crore which was increased to Rs. 1,15,605 crore under the Modi government. BJP is committed for the development of Telangana”.

Earlier in the day, Shah paid a visit to the temple of Goddess Mahankali in the old city of Hyderabad before proceeding to Mahabubnagar.

Soon after the public meeting will come to an end at Mahabubnagar, Shah would meet the BJP’s state office-bearers and district unit presidents at Kothur to formulate strategies for the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana.
On September 6, KCR announced a premature dissolution of Telangana assembly, taking a step towards holding early elections in the Telangana along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram in December 2018. He sought fresh elections in Telangana six months ahead of the scheduled date - April 2019.
Earlier, Making fun of Rao's decision, the BJP said, “Is KCR afraid BJP will snatch victory from him if polls are held after eight months?”.
