Karnataka Bypoll Results: BJP Needs 6 To Secure Power As Counting Begins

The counting of votes for the crucial by-elections to 15 Karnataka assembly constituencies that would have a bearing on the stability of the BS Yediyurappa-led BJP government has begun. The counting is taking place in 11 centres and all the results are most likely to be out by the afternoon, according to election officials. The elections had taken place at Yellapur, Ranebennur, Vijayanagar, Yashwanthapur, Mahalakshmi Layout, Chikkaballapura, KR Puram, Shivajinagar, KR Pet, Hunsur, Athani, Kagwad, Gokak, Hirekerur and Hoskote. Read here

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will table the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday. The Opposition has slammed the Bill as divisive and communal in nature. Now, a latest report suggests that even RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) had raised concerns over the Bill. The officials at India’s external spy agency reportedly told the lawmakers back in January that Pakistan may exploit the legal framework of the Bill to ‘push its own people’. A Deccan Chronicle report said that the R&AW's concerns were placed before a Joint Parliamentary Committee, which scrutinised the now lapsed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 earlier when one of its Joint Secretary deposed before the panel headed by BJP MP Rajendra Agarwal. Delhi Fire: 43 Killed In Capital's Second Deadliest Blaze- 10 Things To Know

At least 43 people were killed when a massive fire ripped through a four-storey building housing illegal manufacturing units in north Delhi's congested Anaj Mandi area on Sunday morning, in the second deadliest blaze in the national capital. Almost all the deceased were migrant labourers hailing from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. A preliminary probe suggested that a short-circuit triggered the blaze.
