Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy will have five deputy chief ministers in his cabinet. The Deputy CMs will be one each from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Castes, Minority and Kapu community. Reddy announced his plans at legislature party meeting held here on Friday. This will be the first time for any Cabinet to have five deputy CM’s in the country. Two deputy CMs, one each from BC and Kapu communities, served under Chandrababu Naidu in the past.

Addressing the legislature party meeting, Jagan said that he would be taking new ministers keeping in view of the peoples' aspirations. He said that a 25-member cabinet would be sworn in on Saturday.

In the previous N Chandrababu Naidu government, one each from, Kapu and BC communities was made deputy chief minister. Jagan's decision to have five deputies is seen as a revolutionary step that is aimed at keeping those communities in good humour.
