Actor and activist Anupam Kher on Thursday shared a heart-wrenching poem dedicated to the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, who have been living the lives of internationally displaced persons since 1990, when they were forced to flee their homeland due to violence.
Expressing the pain and anguish of unheard voices of Kashmiri Pandit community, Kher’s poem warns of the day when these voices will not be silent anymore.
The 61-year-old actor, who belong to Kashmiri Pandit community, tweeted: “27yrs on we Kashmiri Pandits are still refugees in our own country. A protest poem about their Silent Scream. Do share.”
January 20 marks the 27th anniversary of the day when unfortunate events forced the migration of over 60,000 Kashmir Pandit families from the Valley.
