New Delhi:

What will you do if find end up with kilos of Ganja? Well, whatever you do (totally your choice), chances are you just can’t beat Assam Police’s epic response. On Tuesday, an Assam Police team confiscated nearly 600 kgs of Cannabis. But instead of a usual press release, the state police went a step further and took to Twitter to make a witty statement that has gone viral. “Anyone lost a huge (590 kgs) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint last night? Don't panic, we found it. Please get in touch with @Dhubri_Police. They will help you out, for sure ;) Great job Team Dhubri,” the Assam Police said on micro-blogging site. Assam Police's witty tweet has garnered more than 4,000 retweets and 11,000 'likes'.

The tweet a testimony of how ‘cool’ our police departments have become. In an age of instant social media craze, almost everyone is trying to get as many followers as possible. For the social media fans, the Assam Police’s tweet is a funny reminder of Mumbai Police, which can be called the original witty Twitter handle by cops. With 4.7 million followers, the Mumbai Police is popular among netizens for its sarcastic tweets, GIFs and in-your-face advisories.

The Mumbai Police never misses any trend, even if it is as whacky as #JCBkiKhudayi! ‘Superheroes, (J)ust (C)an’t (B)e with a crowd killing time!,’ tweeted the  Mumbai Police with two photos of JCB and Spiderman!

On the official website, Assam Police wrote it has "developed proud and healthy traditions of service and conduct and though it had its failure and shortcomings, it has been able to play its part with credit and distinction and its record and performance have been as good and as worthy as that of any other police force in India."
