The Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat on Friday met Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
General Rawat met the Governor to discuss security related issues in the valley and informed him about the Army Operational Review, which concluded earlier this evening.
In the review meeting, Army top brass was briefed about the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and counter-insurgency operations in the hinterland.
They were also briefed about the counter-insurgency grid and preparedness of the armed forces to deal with any “misadventure” from across the LoC.
A spokesperson of Indian Army said the Governor and Army Chief discussed several important security management issues and the steps required to be taken for more effectively dealing with militant activities and stone pelters.
A massive search operation was conducted by security forces on Friday in the jungles of Kupwara district following the reports of infiltration by terrorists.
Governor Vohra also discussed some issues related to providing better opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to assure their satisfying future.
The Governor also met Army Commanders and few other senior Lt. Generals who has participated in the review meeting taken by General Rawat.
