Arrested ISIS terrorist worked in Ahmed Patel's hospital, claims Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday claimed that one of the two arrested ISIS terrorists was working in a hospital that Congress MP Ahmed Patel was associated with.

Gujarat CM at a press conference demanded Congress’ clarification and sought the resignation of Ahmed Patel from Rajya Sabha.

“One of the arrested terrorists was working in the multi-speciality hospital in Bharuch district’s Ankleshwar being run by Ahmed Patel. He should resign from the Rajya Sabha,” the CM said.

"If Ahmed Patel was a patron of the hospital from where 2 suspected ISIS terrorists were arrested then should he be not held responsible," he added.

Two ISIS sympathisers, Mohammad Kasis Stimberwala and Ubed Ahmed Mirza, were arrested on Wednesday and booked for criminal conspiracy, against the government of India.

The Congress has played down the claims of Rupani and said "such baseless statements are being made by BJP and Gujarat CM to hide their incompetence."

Reacting to Rupani's claims, Ahmed Patel said, “We request that matters of national security not be politicised keeping elections in mind. Let’s not divide peace loving Gujaratis while fighting terrorism.”
