Arun Jaitley on cabinet reshuffle: 'PM Modi closely monitoring performance of each ministry and individual'

Reacting on cabinet reshuffle, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the bar very high and it clearly indicates that he is closely monitoring performance of each ministry and individual. 

“Prime Minister has set the bar very high. It's clear that he is very closely monitoring the performance of each ministry and individual,” Jaitley said. 

While dubbing the reshuffle as a significant landmark, Jaitley hailed Nirmala Sitharaman’s elevation as new defence minister. 

Jaitley said that Sitharaman’s elevation is an example where she performed well and earned a higher responsibility for herself.

“I am sure, now that I have an extremely competent successor in Nirmala Sitharaman, she will carry the road forward,” he said.
