AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal accepted the challenge of debate given by Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu to the Aam Aadmi Party and asked Sidhu to fix the place and time for the same. Kejriwal named Bhagwant Mann, AAP Punjab President, for the debate saying that it makes more sense since Navjot Singh Sidhu is Congress President in state.
He also expressed hope for a positive and fruitful discussion. Responding to questions from journalists at Chandigarh airport on Sunday, Kejriwal said, "I accept the challenge of debate given by Navjot Sidhu and hope that the discussion is fruitful and on the various issues of development. Sidhu should choose the place and time for the debate." He said, since Sidhu is the state president of Congress, our party's state president Bhagwant Mann will debate with him on the issue of development of Punjab.
Criticizing the Congress, Kejriwal said that the Congress had 5 years to develop Punjab, but they betrayed the people and did nothing except drama and excuses. Expressing grief over the sacrilege incident at Shri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, Kejriwal said, "This incident could be part of a conspiracy. Some wrong forces are plotting to spoil the peace and tranquility of Punjab." He blamed the Congress government for this incident and said that if the culprits of the previous sacrilege case had been punished severely, then no person would have dared to commit such a crime again.
I hope that the police will catch those who sent the criminal to Sri Harmandir Sahib for sacrilege, at the earliest and punish all the conspirators behind it, said Kejriwal.
