Cricketer Harbhajan Singh on Saturday said that Punjab needed a government which would focus on issues of youths and job creation.
After casting his vote in Jalandhar, Singh said, “We need a government which will think more about youths, bring jobs for them and take the state forward. The government should resolve grievances of the people promptly.”
Asked whether he would join politics, the spin bowler said, “To serve the state, it is not mandatory to join politics. The state can be served through various ways. Now, I am playing cricket. When I will be free, will consider serving the state.”
Around 75 per cent of the 1.98 crore electors exercised their franchise in the election to the 117 Assembly seats of Punjab.
