Admitted at AIIMS for the last nine weeks, former prime minister and BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health condition remained critical on Thursday and he was still put on life support. As his health condition worsened, political leaders from the BJP and Opposition parties, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah visited the ailing PM at the hospital.
With no improvement in Vajpayee’s health, people of India from all faiths have been praying for his speedy recovery. Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress Leader Shakir Khan offered a 'chadar' at a dargah in Gwalior and prayed for the former PM’s wellness.

Students of ND Convent Public School in Lucknow, which was also his Lok Sabha constituency, offered namaz for Vajpayee’s health.
In his hometown Gwalior, students of Government Ayurvedic College conducted a ‘havan’ for the good health of the former prime minister, who was on life support system in Delhi’s AIIMS. In Punjab's Ludhiana, special prayers were offered for his health at Sakteshwar Mahadev Ashram temple.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma breaks down in tears
Hearing the news of Vajpayee’s critical health, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma broke down in tears. He said that Vajpayee was his guide and inspiration.
“The news of his ill health has saddened me. He has always been an inspiration and a guide to me,” ANI quoted Sharma as saying.

Vajpayee has been admitted to Delhi's AIIMS hospital for the last nine weeks. He was admitted to the hospital on June 11 with a Kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection and chest congestion.
