Atal Bihari Vajpayee Death LIVE: Final journey will begin at 1:30 pm tomorrow

Former prime minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee, surrounded by closed ones and top national leaders, passed away at AIIMS hospital in New Delhi on Thursday following multiple organs failure. He was undergoing treatment for kidney tract infection, chest congestion, urinary tract infection and reduced urine output and was kept on life support for the last three days. He was 93.

93-year-old Vajpayee, the only non-Congress leader to complete a five-year tenure as PM of India, was admitted to AIIMS hospital on June 11. He was diagnosed with a kidney tract infection, a urinary tract infection chest congestion. Several BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani, Harsh Vardhan Singh and others, visited the ailing BJP veteran at AIIMS hospital on Wednesday night.
