Jammu & Kashmir witnessed an unfortunate incident when a mini bus travelling on Bhaderwah-Basholi Highway was hit by an avalanche. The snow covered area had five persons buried alive travelling from Bani to Bhaderwah.
The incident led to the death of 5 persons travelling in the bus while several other passengers were injured. The bus had 12 passengers in it.
According to the BRO workers, the avalanche hit the bus and rolled down into a 1500-feet gorge.

The BRO workers at that moment were clearing the snow and debris near Chattar Gali pass, 38 kms from Bhaderwah.
Workers along with other locals immediately started rescue operations and also informed the police about the accident.

"As of now three of the injured including driver of the vehicle have been rescued and sent to Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah," said SDPO, Bhaderwah, Birjesh Sharma.
