The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) appeal and ruled that Lal Krishan Advani and several other senior BJP leaders will face conspiracy charges in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
Vinay Katiyar, Sadhvi Ritambara, Satish Pradhan, Champat Rai Bansal and Late Giriraj Kishore will now face criminal conspiracy charges. The Allahabad high Court had earlier ruled in favour of dropping the conspiracy charges against veteran BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti.
CBI had later appealed against the high court's order. As soon as the apex court order came, Twitter reacted strongly with a mixed bag of reactions:
Everybody talks about how it has taken down, but nobody wants to talk about how it was built. #BabriMasjid #mandirvahibanayenge #JayshriRam

IF Advani is a criminal to have demolished a mosque, then half of Kashmir should be in jail for demolition of temples. #BabriMasjid
