Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Senior Leader and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan has warned the Akali Dal Badal leaders not to use the name of Sikh Panth for their personal and political purposes as the Akali Dal Badal, specially the Badal Family for the last 3-4 decades has proved to be extremely deadly to Punjab and the Sikh Panth. At the same time Sandhwan requested Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Shri Akal Takhat with folded hands, to not to behave as a representative of Akali Dal Badal and Badal family.
In a statement issued on Friday from the party headquarters, Kultar Singh Sandhwan said, “Reacting to the joining of SAD-BJP leader and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Manjinder Singh Sirsa in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), SAD-BJP had termed the incident as an attack on the Sikh Panth and also accused them of following the footsteps of BJP and Indira Gandhi.”
He said that the Akali Dal Badal and the Badal family who had formed governments with the BJP and occupied the leading institutions of the Sikhs are now remembering the Sikh Panth. Kultar Singh Sandhwan alleged that the Badal family had directly occupied Sikh institutions and Gurudwaras and satiated all the leading and educational institutions including Sri Akal Takht and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and used these for his family & political purposes.

He said that in 70 years the enemies have not been able to do as much damage to Sikh morality and Panthak traditions as the Badal family and their beloved followers(Deravadis) had done. Therefore, Badal & Company is directly responsible for any harm caused to Sikhism and Panth. S. Sandhwan said, “Those Badal parties’ who are today accusing BJP and Indira Gandhi of following in their footsteps, till yesterday these Badals have had a very close (nail-skin) relationship with BJP.
The Badal family, for their own political and familial purposes, had given free rein to the BJP and the RSS to infiltrate the Pantheon and Panthak institutions. Today, when the BJP stung the Badal Dal by showing its reality, the Badal family was again reminded of the Panth, which had been gradually outsourced to the BJP by the Badal family for the last three decades. The Badals have even turned the Shiromani Akali Dal, created with a glorious history and immense sacrifices, into a wing of the BJP and the RSS to hold on to the seat of power in Punjab and the Center. ”
Challenging Badal & Company, Sandhwan said, “The Badal family and the Akali Dal Badal, who are facing serious charges of disrespecting Guru Granth Sahib and killing Sikhs, should give up their false ownership of Punjab, Panth and Panthak institutions. They should rather worry of the Panseri of frogs who are jumping away from Takdi, as the Badal family and the present Akali Dal Badal have nothing to do with the Panth and Panthak customs. ”
