In a sickening turn of events reported from Jaraganahalli in JP Nagar, Bangalore, a 36-year-old woman flung her seven-year-old differently abled daughter, not once but twice, from the third floor of their rented flat on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the death of the child.
According to the witnesses, the little girl survived the initial fall even though she suffered serious injuries. Even as the neighbours and onlookers watched the child lying in the pool of blood, the mother came rushing down and picked her daughter up giving an inkling that the child had accidentally fallen down and she is taking her to get medical care.
Instead, the mother picked up the daughter, went back to her flat, only to throw her down once again even as the people on the ground watched in absolute horror. About 15 minutes later, the mother came down after changing her clothes and that is when she was caught by the locals who tied her to an electric pole.

According to the residents of the building, they heard a loud thud just around 3:30 pm on Sunday and rushed to the spot to find Shreya Sarkar, 7, badly injured, lying in a pool of blood following which her mother Sathi Sarkar, alias Swathi, 36, came rushing down.
Initially, it seemed that Sathi was going to take her to a hospital but to their horror, she took Shreya back upstairs and threw her down again killing her on the spot.
Puttenahalli police arrived at the spot and took Swathi into custody.
Swathi was married to Kanchan Sarkar and the couple had moved to Bengaluru from West Bengal about 10 years ago, informed the police.
Sathi was working as a teacher till about two years ago and had separated from her husband. Police claimed that the woman seemed mentally disturbed and told them that her daughter was restless and she decided to throw her down to calm her.
Shreya was suffering from speech disorder and Swathi was desperately trying to make her speak. She used to take her on evening and morning walks on a daily basis in the neighbourhood, said a police official.
Police have registered a case and are expected to subject the accused to psychiatric evaluation as part of the investigation.
