Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday in Binner area of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir, police said. According to reports, arms and ammunition along with incriminating material were recovered from the spot. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation in the matter.

The security forces had launched a search operation in Binner area of the district following information about the presence of terrorists on Wednesday. The search operation soon turned into a gun battle after the terrorists opened fire on the security forces.Â
In the ensuing encounter, three terrorists were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. The identity and group affiliation of the slain ultras was being ascertained, a police official said.
Security forces have requested citizens not to venture inside encounter zone as it can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. “People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials if any,†the official said.
