Two separate meetings of MLAs of Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal (United) will be held in Patna on Wednesday to discuss the fate of the alliance which witnessed strain in ties after an FIR registered against Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav in benami property case.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is in no mood to compromise with Tejashwi after the latter’s name surfaced in land-for-hotels case while RJD boss Lalu Prasad Yadav made it clear that his son, Tejashwi will not resign.
RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari said,” Being the head of the coalition, it is Kumar's responsibility to keep the Grand Alliance intact.”
Tiwari alleged that Nitish’s stance over corruption is a mere sham. "Is Nitish Kumar bathed in milk,” he said.
On Tuesday, JD(U) spokesman Sunil Singh had come down heavily on RJD leaders for making "baseless" allegations of nexus with BJP and urged the RJD leadership to stop its leader from making such statements. Senior JD(U) leader KC Tyagi had also said," We won't allow this Grand Alliance to be another UPA-2."
