Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi on Tuesday made a shocking remark on the mass molestation in Bengaluru on New Year’s eve. Azmi blamed ‘short dresses’ of women for the incident of mass molestation in Bengaluru that shook the entire nation.

In an apparently sexist remark, Azmi said, “It was bound to happen. Woman call nudity fashion. They were wearing short dresses.”

“Women must step out with family.” Azmi said “it won’t be right for my sister or daughter to go out at night without male members of the family,” he added.

But notably, not only Azmi, an indifferent Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara too played with the intensity of the happening saying that “Such incidents do happen on New Year day and on Christmas. We take a lot of precautions.”
