Mosaraf Hossain alias Hossain, an active member of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). It is to be noted that Mosaraf Hossain was wanted in the JBM Bengaluru terror module case.

The case pertains to the seizure of five Improvised hand grenades, 3 fabricated grenade caps and an equal number of circuits of IEDs, one 9mm live round, one air gun, suspected explosive powder and other incriminating material on July 8, 2019 from a house in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The house was rented by members of JMB in Chikkabanavara.

"Accused Mosaraf Hossain, a 22 year old and resident of Raghunathganj in Murshidabad District, West Bengal, will be will be produced in NIA Special Court, Kolkata on Tuesday for seeking transit warrant to produce him before NIA Special Court, at Bengaluru," the central probe agency said in a statement.

The NIA further said, "Investigation has revealed that Mosaraf Hossain is an active member of JMB, proscribed as a terrorist organisation by the Government of India. Mosaraf Hossain came to Bengaluru in the first week of March 2018 with Asif Ikbal alias Nadem, to participate in subversive activities in India."

"While staying in Bengaluru, he along with other JMB accused persons, including Jahidul Islam, Kador Kazi, Habibur Rahman, Adil Seikh, and Najir Sheikh, committed 2 dacoities last year in Bengaluru to raise funds for JMB to wage war against the Government of India and to carry out subversive activities across India," it added.
