The nationwide shutdown called by the Congress started from Rajghat on Monday as the petrol price continued to spiral upwards as it touched Rs 80.73/litre mark in Delhi and diesel hit Rs 72.83 while in Mumbai, petrol was priced at Rs 88.12/litre and diesel at 77.32/litre. Meanwhile, the rupee on Monday stooped to a record low of 72.18, falling 45 paise against the US dollar due to strong demand for the US currency from importers. The nationwide protest has also been called due to the depreciation of the rupee in the country. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi ahead of the ‘Bharat Bandh’.

We think not.
All we are left with is hard choices.
Price of petrol is around Rs. 87/litre, that of Diesel about Rs. 75/litre. Price of LPG cylinder has increased from Rs. 414/cylinder in 2014 to Rs. 754/cylinder now.#BharatBandh#MehangiPadiModiSarkar pic.twitter.com/MWozfxOksH

When Congress turned it around in 2004, the dissent & the anti incumbency against the Vajpayee Govt was not so much. It shouldn’t be too big a task for the INC to topple the BJP Govt when the nation is fed up with Modi’s Bhashan & Shashan.
2019 getting interesting. #BharatBandh
