Bihar: Army column, Engineer Task Force deployed in flood-hit areas; 270 people rescued

An Army column and Engineer Task Force (ETF) have been deployed in six districts of the state and rescued more than 270 people from the flood –hit areas.

The Centre and state government scaled up its effort in rescue operations in flood-hit areas of the Bihar.

An Army column and Engineer Task Force (ETF) have been deployed in six districts of the state and rescued more than 270 people from the flood –hit areas.

As per reports in ANI, 39 people rescued in Katihar, 122 from Araria, 19 and 90 from Madhubani and Sitamarhi respectively.

The authorities have distributed 3090 food packets among affected people and 1000 people have received medical help.

According to reports, four more teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are being pressed into service who have been airlifted from Pune to Patna.
