New Delhi:

Ujiarpur MP and Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai on Tuesday expressed regret and withdrew his comments, saying that he had said it as a phrase. Rai had said, "if any hand or finger is raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it should either break it or chop off."

He had said,"Your own son rose out of poverty to become PM, regardless of differences everyone in the country should value it. If any hand or finger is raised against him (Modi), we should come together and break it and if need be even chop it off."

Rai had made the comments during a function called by the Vaishya and Kanu (OBC) communities.
