The downgrading of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s security cover has stirred the political ambience between Bihar and New Delhi.
Taking a sarcastic dig at Lalu, CM Nitish Kumar tweeted, “Having the security of hundreds under 'Z' Plus cover including SSG by the state government and dominating people is a sign of brave personality!â€Â

In Z plus category, the dignitary receives a security cover of 55 personnel in which there are at least 10 commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG) and the remaining are state paramilitary forces.
The current security cover for Lalu is Z category in which he will be under the protection of a total of 22 personnel including at least five NSG commandos and the rest is paramilitary personnel.
Earlier Lalu Prasad Yadav tweeted, “PM Modi doesn’t want that I move around freely and I may be attacked anytime. As Railway Minister when I visited Gujarat then Modi ji was CM and stones were pelted at my convoy. This time the very news of my arrival at Gujarat has prompted him to cut my security. Why so afraid of Lalu?†Â
On Monday, Lalu’s son Tej Pratap’s comment came in response to a question over withdrawal of Lalu Prasad's Z-plus VIP security cover by the Centre. He said, “A murder conspiracy is being hatched against my father. We will scalp Narendra Modiji alive.â€Â
