A journalist working with a Hindi daily was shot dead on Saturday allegedly by three unidentified persons in Bihar's Sasaram city apparently over his articles on illegal stone chips units, the police said.
Dharmdendra Singh, 33, was pumped three bullets from point blank range by bike-borne assailants while he was having tea at a road side stall at his Amra Tola village .
Singh was referred to Varanasi in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries midway.
Singh is survived by wife and a son.
The SDPO said probe is on in the murder case. The murder is suspectedly linked to illegal quarrying business in Rohtas district.
Sources said that police have launched a probe into the murder and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
The murder is the latest in a string of crimes that underline the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar.
