Police on Tuesday seized 2,621 litre of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a truck in Begusarai in Bihar, where prohibition is in place.
Begusarai Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said the liquor, estimated to cost Rs 25 lakh, was seized during frisking of trucks near Chirhauli village by police following a tip-off.
The truck bore Patna registration number and the liquor bottles were packed in 250 cartons hidden in it, the SP said. Police impounded the truck with the liquor but the driver managed to flee, the SP said, adding efforts were on to catch him.
