With opposition's protest against the alleged sexual abuse of over 40 minor girls at a shelter home in Muzaffarpur city, the normal life on Thursday came to a standstill in Bihar.

Meanwhile, lending their support to the large-scale protest, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav on Thursday hinted another nationwide strike, including at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Referring to the law and order situation in Bihar, Yadav said, RJD will hold a strike in Bihar and across the country on August 4, seeking answers from the Nitish Kumar government on Muzaffarpur shelter home case and several other atrocities all over the state.

Tejaswi has been critical of the state government ever since the reports of Bihar shelter home case came to the light. Earlier, he alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has a close connection to the NGO owner and is trying to protect the accused.

Meanwhile, Yadav's allegation got a further boost after a slew of photographs showing top leaders honouring the accused NGO owner Brijesh Thakur emerged on the internet.

"The pictures corroborate that several senior leaders are involved in this case and CM Nitish Kumar is trying to shield them. The probe was delayed deliberately to manipulate evidence," Tejaswi went on to claim further.

Talking about one controversial picture, which raised significant questions regarding RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's connection with Thakur, Tejaswi said, "The photo in question dates back to 1990s. Brijesh Thakur seems to be a reporter then. He didn’t even have an NGO. They're just trying to divert attention by highlighting this photo".

While the nation is still finding it hard to get over the horror of Kathua and Unnao rape case, the chilling incident of Muzaffarpur city has yet again raised hard-hitting questions about the safety of women and children in our country.

In July, shock and terror engulfed Bihar's Muzaffarpur after 40 minor girls were allegedly raped and one of them was mercilessly beaten to death at a shelter home in the city.

Following the report of the minor's death, who was buried in the shelter home premises, police initiated a probe and started digging in and around the place.
