Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday blamed the Centre for developments that have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir. "We don't have any complaints from the Governor. He is a very nice man. We have complaints from the Central government that if they had to dissolve the Assembly, they should have done it 4-5 months ago when they withdrew support from the PDP,” said Ghulam Nabi Azad according to the news agency ANI.

“For these 4-5 months, the BJP tried to form their own government but they did not have majority. So, they tried to break MLAs from other parties. When they saw that another government could have been formed, BJP dissolved the Assembly," he said.

Jammu and Kashmir witnessed an intense political drama on Wednesday after former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti claimed to form a coalition government with sworn enemies, the National Conference and the Congress finally resulting in the dissolution of the state Legislative Assembly by Governor Satya Pal Malik.

Mehbooba Mufti’s efforts to form a government got a boost after former deputy chief minister and senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig openly supported the third front. “I would leave the party if the third front emerges,” Baig said addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Tuesday. According to Baig, the PDP failed to live up to its vision.
