North-East Democratic Alliance, a new platform of BJP, was today formed for development of all north-eastern states of the country. It was formed at a meeting chaired by BJP president Amit Shah and attended by Assam’s new Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Sikkim counterparts, party sources said tonight.
Assam’s new minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been appointed as the convenor of the Alliance, they said.
The meeting was also attended by BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav, BJP North East Zonal Organising secretary Ajay Jamwal, besides Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul, Nagaland CM T R Zeliang and Sikkim’s Chief Minister P K Chamling, sources added.
