New Delhi :

Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Bagga’s Twitter account has been locked after the microblogging site accused him of violating its rules. According to Twitter, his account has been locked for publishing or posting other people's private information ‘without their express authorisation and permission’. This has left netizens baffled who are now slamming twitter for such a move.

"If this was done by some algorithm, then it is utter stupidity and If this was done by some Human, it is utter disgrace (sic)!" a user tweeted. Twitterati are demanding the microblogging site to restore his account at the earliest with the #BringBackBagga.

BJP leader Kapil Mishra slammed the move and questioned whether it's wrong to tweet about Vande Mataram?  "Is it a crime to write Vande Mataram on Twitter? .. Is it a crime to tweet Anand Math?" Mishra tweeted.

It all started after Bagga ordered Anandmath, a book by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s residence after the special session of Maharashtra Assembly - which was convened to prove the majority of Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress – started without Vande Mataram.

While doing this, the BJP leader shared the residential address of Uddhav Thackeray on twitter and this is apparently why his twitter account has been locked. However, Bagga claimed that he has not violated any Twitter rule as Thackeray’s residential address is available on the internet.

“This is for the first time in the history of Maharashtra when the Assembly session started without Vande Mataram. So I ordered ‘Anandmath’ book at Uddhav Thackeray’s residence and asked people to tag @officeofUT with #VandeMataramUddhav. But it doesn’t violate any norm as the address is already present on the internet,” Bagga told News Nation.

Earlier, the BJP leader had accused Twitter of holding political bias as well as hurting the religious sentiments of people.
