In a shocking incident, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Renu Devi’s brother was seen thrashing a chemist for allegedly not standing up to welcome him. The whole episode of high-handedness was caught on camera. On June 3, Bhartiya Janata Party national vice president Renu Devi’s brother Pinu entered a medical shop at 9:18 pm. He apparently got miffed when one of the staff remained seated and did not stand up to greet him, and started beating him. Pinu was accompanied by some of his friends who were also seen thrashing the staff.

After beating the staff mercilessly, Pinu grabbed him and took him outside the shop. The shocking visuals of the VVIP arrogance were captured on the CCTV installed in the shop. Reacting to the incident, Renu Devi said, “I never encourage wrong behaviour. I've no relation with Pinu, with that house, since many years. We're not on talking terms. Still I'm being dragged. If anyone commits a mistake, he/she should be punished, even if it's me.”

The police, on the other hand, have registered a case against Pinu. “A case has been registered. Victim's family has been provided with police security. We've seized a 4-wheeler that was used to abduct the victim & take him to some other place,” Jayant Kant, Bettiah Superintendent of Police said.
