The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday came out with its list of candidates for Assembly by-polls for three seats each in Gujarat and Goa. The party has fielded Dayanand Raghunath Sopte, Joushua peter Desouza and Subhash Ankush Shirodkar from Mandrem, Mapusa and Siroda Assembly constituencies in Goa. Candidates who will be contesting Gujarat Assembly bypolls are Parsotambhai Sabariya (Dhrangradhra), Raghavjibhai Patel (Jamnagar Rural) and Javaharabhai Chavda (Manavadar).
Besides, the Saffron Party has also released the sixth list of 48 candidates, spanning the six states of Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka for the next month's Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The sixth list has candidates for both of Goa's seats, 15 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Jharkhand, 15 from Gujarat, all four from Himachal and two from Karnataka.

The names were finalised on Friday in a meeting of the BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) headed by party chief Amit Shah, and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari among others.
The by-polls are scheduled to take place along with Lok Sabha polls in the third phase on April 23, 2019. The seven-phase Lok Sabha Elections will be held between April 11 and May 19 while the counting of votes will be taken up on May 23.
