Aam Aadmi Party's MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said "the BJP-ruled MCD has not paid salaries to doctors and paramedical staff for the past several months. Due to which everyone has gone on strike and the general public has been deprived of health services. North MCD's LOP Vikas Goel said that despite having full information, the mayor left the office ahead of time and, unfortunately, they could not give him a memorandum. Now this memorandum will be given to him tomorrow.

But he cannot get away like this. Our struggle will continue. South MCD's LOP Prem Chauhan said that earlier due to the negligence of BJP, dengue cases rose rapidly in Delhi and now they are not paying salaries to the doctors treating those patients." Under the leadership of MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak, LOPs of all three MCDs, all the councilors, and nominated councilors raised slogans at the Civic Center protesting against the non-payment of salaries to doctors and paramedical staff. During this, the Aam Aadmi Party demanded the BJP-ruled MCD to immediately release the salaries of all the employees so that the general public can avail health services again. The Aam Aadmi Party has demanded to hand over all the hospitals to the Delhi government.

The candle march was completely peaceful. During the candle march, North Delhi Municipal Corporation's Leader of Opposition Vikas Goel said, "the MCD-ruled BJP has not paid salaries to doctors and para-medical staff for the past several months, due to which they have gone on strike. In such a situation, the general public has been deprived of health services. In this protest, today we are gheraoing the BJP by holding a candle march outside the MCD Headquarters Civic Center. We demand that MCD release the salary of the entire staff as soon as possible. But we know that MCD will fail because this is not the first time that their employees have to go on strike.

Bharatiya Janata Party has been ruling in MCD for the last 15 years and now slowly all their lies are getting exposed. The corruption and the mismanagement that the BJP has done in the last 15 years are now coming out in the open." He added, "You see how their budget is decreasing every year. Every year income is decreasing and liabilities are increasing. The ranking in cleanliness is getting worse every year. This time the cleanliness ranking of MCD has increased from 43rd to 45th. Despite this, these people reduce the budget for sanitation. They have raised mountains of garbage all around Delhi.

Dengue has broken records for many years. There are water-borne diseases in Delhi, which the MCD is responsible to prevent. Despite that, today we have such a situation where they have looted the corporation so much that today they are not able to give salary to the employees for two-three months." He continued, "The entire federation went on strike yesterday. Everyone has been informed to remain on strike for a week. Everyone is saying that if we do not get the salary, then we will go on complete strike. This condition of the corporation is the BJP’s doing. There is an 1100 bed hospital but all its doctors, all nurses, all paramedical staff are on strike. The same is the case with Indira Gandhi Hospital.

The one who became a doctor after studying so much, with so much hard work, did not become a doctor to sit on strike. Those people became doctors to serve the public. But today they have to sit on the streets. These are the same people who served the people of Delhi by risking their lives in Corona. On the one hand, Prime Minister Modi Ji gets flowers showered on him, and on the other hand, the same Bharatiya Janata Party has created such a condition that there is no ration in their houses.

We also held a press conference before Diwali that doctors are going to go on strike, and appealed to the BJP to do something, but they didn’t. This clearly shows that MCD is deliberately harassing the people of Delhi so that the Delhi government can be defamed in some way." He said, "Who visits MCD hospitals for maximum treatment? General public! Today they are not able to get treatment because of the strike.

All these hospitals are built by the taxes of the people of Delhi and made for their treatment. I request the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party not to do politics on it. If hospitals are not running from you, then immediately give them to the Delhi government. Under the supervision of the Delhi government, all these hospitals will become better, the entire staff will be able to get salaries on time and people will get good health services.

The Aam Aadmi Party demands that all these hospitals be handed over to Arvind Kejriwal's government." After this, South MCD's LOP Prem Chauhan said, "it has been 17 years of the BJP in the corporation but it is failing in every responsibility. Earlier, due to their negligence, the cases of dengue rose rapidly in Delhi and now they are not paying salaries to the doctors who treat them so that even the hospitals cannot run. BJP is deliberately taking revenge on Delhiites, troubling them.

Now the situation has become such that doctors are on strike. Where will the general public of Delhi go for treatment? After this, there is only one option, for which we are going to give a memorandum to the Mayor that if you are not running these hospitals, then you should give these hospitals to the Delhi government. The way they have improved every system, in the same way, the Delhi government will be able to improve the level of hospitals."

Vikas Goel, who reached MCD HQs to give a memorandum to the Mayor, said, "the entire media knew that at 6 o'clock we are coming to give the memorandum, but it is a matter of great surprise that the Mayor's office is closed. The Mayor has already left from here. The offices of the Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Standing Committee are closed and the office of the Leader of the House is also closed. All these people have already gone despite the information.

Now is the time for the office to be open. All the leaders who have been sitting on the constitutional post of the Bharatiya Janata Party are gone. This is very unfortunate and now we will give this memorandum to the mayor tomorrow. Our struggle will continue. You will not be able to escape by hiding like this."
