Congress taking jibe on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government recent cabinet reshuffle said that the party is trying to rebuild the image they have tarnished on Sunday.

“Govt’s image is already tarnished. Whatever changes they make, it’s tough to rebuild the image,” Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Former Bihar chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Yadav mocked on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying, “They didn't even get invites (oath ceremony). One who leaves his people won't be taken in by others. It's Nitish Kumar's fate.”

The Congress on Saturday evening prior to the reshuffle had raised questions on whether the ministers who may be removed or have resigned have any link to corruption case and accused the BJP-led government of being ‘selective’ and ‘opportunistic’ in dealing with opposition leaders.

Four junior ministers including Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Dharmendra Pradhan, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal were elevated to the Cabinet rank and nine fresh faces inducted as Ministers of State in a major rejig of his team by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
