Posters ridiculing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for not attending the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have appeared in the national capital. The posters mocking the West Bengal chief were placed at several locations in the national capital by Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga.

“Mamata's U-turn at the last moment, says sorry Modi ji, I won't come for the swearing-in ceremony,” the poster read. “Sorry Modiji…. can’t find any clean saree,” it read.

In the poster, Mamata Banerjee can be seen wearing her trade-mark white saree with blue border. The Saree is soaked in blood to depict the alleged political killings of BJP workers pre and post-poll violence in West Bengal.

The West Bengal chief minister had decided to skip the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi on May 30 after the BJP confirmed invitation to the family members of its deceased activists.

"The oath-taking ceremony is an august occasion to celebrate democracy, not one that should be devalued by any political party which uses it as an opportunity to score political points," Banerjee had said in a tweet.

Mamata Banerjee’s TMC was given a stiff challenge by the BJP in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. The saffron party won 18 seats in Bengal and reduced the TMC to just 22 seats, in a state tipped as its citadel.
