Puducherry Police saved a 21-year-old girl, who was allegedly in the last state of the notorious ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ game, from drowning herself on Sunday late after a WhatsApp alert message.
Director General of Police SK Gouram told the media that the girl in her early twenties had downloaded the game in her smartphone.
“An alert message was raised by the girl’s friend on the WhatsApp group created by one of our sub-inspectors to establish contacts with the residents of the area. In the message we were alerted that the girl had not reached home since last night.”
The DGP added that a manhunt was launched to recover the girl safe and sound.
