New Delhi:

The body of a 6-year-old boy, who fell in a drain in Noida on Monday, was recovered on Tuesday morning, a NDRF official said. The body was recovered at 8:45 am.

The boy fell into the drain on Monday afternoon when he along with some other children was crossing the drain near Salarpur Khadar village.

Soon after, a search operation was launched by the police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to rescue him. However, the thunderstorm on Monday night forced the authorities to halt the rescue operation.

The child has been identified as Saurabh, a class 1 student, who lived with his family in a village in Sector 81.

Another official involved in the operation had on Monday said the drain is not very deep, but considering the height of the child it is risky.
