Expelled INLD leader Ajay Singh Chautala to form own party

Expelled INLD Leader Ajay Chautala on Saturday decided to form his own party. On November 14, jailed INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala expelled his elder son Ajay Chautala from the primary membership of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) for alleged anti-party activities.

Ajay Singh (57), who is serving a 10-year jail term along with his father and former chief minister OP Chautala in a teachers’ recruitment scam in the state, is currently out on a two-week parole. He was also removed as the secretary general of the party’s state unit.

Days before Ajay Singh's oust, the INLD chief had expelled the former's two sons from the party – Hisar MP Dushyant and his brother Digvijay – exposing the feud to public view.

Though Ajay Singh’s wife and INLD MLA Naina Chautala too has been vocal against her detractors within the party after action against her sons, she has been spared from any disciplinary action.

On Friday, Naina Chautala dared the rival camp led by Abhay Singh Chautala to expel her from the party, even as she hinted at the possibility of major decisions at a meeting called by her husband on Saturday.

"From tomorrow, there will be a new beginning," she said on Friday, referring to the planned meeting in Jind which the Abhay Chautala camp had termed illegal.
