The decision was taken by BJP state president Ajay Bhatt. Champion had allegedly threatened a journalist a few days ago. A video of the incident had gone viral on social media.
At a meeting of the BJP office-bearers in Parmarth Niketan of Rishikesh, the matter of the Champion was also discussed. There, the top leadership of the party decided to suspend the primary membership of Champion for three months in view of indiscipline, according to local reports. The reports added that if his conduct does not improve, the party can take a tough decision.
“I am a disciplined soldier of the party. I accept the party's decision,†said Champion.
