The Income Tax sleuths recovered more than Rs 2 crore cash from a flat in Dwarka sector-12 in Delhi where AAP MLA Naresh Balyan was also present. The IT officials questioned the MLA and are investigated where the amount was being used for any deal. According to sources, Balyan was present at the time raid conducted by two IT teams, who has received inputs regarding some money deal. However, there no official confirmation on the raid and the name of the leader.

In 2016, Balyan was arrested on charges of assault, its 13th lawmaker to land in Delhi Polices net, triggering sharp reaction from the party.
Balyan, MLA from Uttam Nagar, was arrested on a day that also saw Deputy Chief Minister Manish and Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan being questioned by Anti-Corruption Branch in separate cases and news about a non-bailable warrant being issued against Matiala legislator Gulab Singh surfaced.
