Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working President JP Nadda and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday released the manifesto for the upcoming assembly election to the state of Maharashtra. Top sources say IAF plans to install the IPSS, which is a “comprehensive multi-sensor, multi-layered, hi-tech surveillance and intrusion detection system”, at 23 “sensitive and high-risk” airbases. Concurrently, the force is also pushing the case for “electric smart power fences” for 19 other air stations.  India is remembering Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his 88th birth anniversary. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931 at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. Dr Kalam became known as the 'Missile Man of India' for his contributions towards the development of the country's missile projects.

Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti Detained Under Public Safety Act: Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA). The act allows detention for up to two years without a trial. Tensions are high in Kashmir after New Delhi on August 5 announced abrogation of provisions of Article 370 and decided to bifurcate the state into Union territories - Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh - hours after Kashmir was placed under a total clampdown. Maharashtra Assembly Polls: BJP Releases Manifesto, Promises 1 Crore Jobs

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released party's manifesto for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Polling for all 288 Assembly seats in the state will be held on October 21 and counting of votes will take place on October 24. Amid reports of Pakistan-based terrorists reactivating Balakot camp after the Indian Air Force’s pre-dawn airstrikes in February, there is an alarming development on the Line of Control. The Pakistan-based handlers are using new ‘codes’ to send messages to the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. What is worrying the fact that the Indian intelligence agencies and the military have not been able to crack the code so far. The development was reported by the Hindustan Times on Tuesday. Nitish holds high-level meeting on water-logging; errant officials face music

The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar has taken action against errant officials found wanting in discharge of their duties during the recent water-logging in Patna by placting them under suspension, withholding payment of salaries and issuing show-cause notices to them.


The accountability of officials was fixed, remedial measures discussed and instructions were issued for strict implementation at a review meeting held by the chief minister with members of his cabinet and top government officials on Monday.
