BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis is scheduled to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Monday. Sources say that the meeting is a prelude to the BJP’s bold efforts to regain the control of Mantralaya. Fadnavis is likely to stake claim to form the government. Sources say that the BJP leaders are not the only one to meet Koshyari later today. Its ally in the state, Shiv Sena is also sending its leaders to meet the Governor separately today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday will leave for Saudi Arabia to sign a raft of key pacts to significantly ramp up ties in several key sectors including oil and gas, renewable energy and civil aviation. The major pacts to be signed included an agreement to launch an India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council, an MoU to roll out RuPay card, India's digital payment system, and a separate one on bringing coordination between e-migration systems of the two countries, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the External Affairs Ministry T S Tirumurti had said.

Day After Diwali, Delhi Chokes On 'Hazardous' Air, AQI Shoots To 900 In Some Areas
Delhi woke up to a hazy, smog-filled morning on Monday with the Air Quality Index shooting to frightening 900 in some areas. Despite the Supreme Court ban, Diwali witnessed widespread use of firecrackers by people of Delhi-NCR. As predicted by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), Monday morning air was totally unbreathable. At Anand Vihar, PM 2.5 was hovering over 600. Whereas in RK Puram, it was at ‘severe’ level of 524. Major pollutant PM 2.5 was recorded at 500 in 'severe' category in Lodhi Road area, according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data. In neighbouring Ghaziabad, situation was no better. The city recorded PM 2.5 level of 500+ during early morning hours. In Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was registered at 340 in 'hazardous' category.
India Takes Pakistan To Aviation Watchdog Over Its Denial Of Airspace To PM Modi's Flight
Angry over Pakistan’s denial of its airspace to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flight to Saudi Arabia, India has taken up its neighbour to global aviation watchdog ICAO, latest media reports said on Monday. India has said that by continuously denying its airspace, Pakistan is violating the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s accepted global practices. Overflight clearances are sought and granted by other countries as prescribed by the ICAO guidelines. On Sunday, Pakistan had denied India's request to allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi's VVIP flight to use its airspace for his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia, citing the alleged human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.

West Bengal governor attends Kali Puja at Mamata residence
Amid the ongoing war of words between the Trinamool Congress government and Raj Bhawan, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar along with his wife went to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence to attend Kali Puja and spent around two hours there.
Banerjee herself greeted Dhankhar and his wife and took them inside her residence. The chief minister and the governor were seen talking to each other cordially.
