Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a high-level segment of the UN conference today in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. PM Narendra Modi will address the 14^th Conference of Parties (COP) to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). PM Modi will also lay out plans to combat threat to climate. UNCCD was adopted in Paris on June 17, 1994, and was ratified by 196 countries and the European Union. India ratified the UNCCD Convention in 1996.
