Prime Minister Narendra Modi has again justified revoking provisions of Article 370 and ending special status to Jammu and Kashmir- this time in Bangkok.  Speaking to Indian diaspora during his Thailand visit, he claimed that the move has helped eliminate the root cause of terrorism and separatism in the country. Delhi was enveloped in a thick layer of smog on Sunday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 18.7 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average. The city received 0.3 mm rain in the past 24 hours which slightly lowered the hazardous level of air pollutants in the air. Relative humidity was 85 per cent at 8.30 a.m., said a MeT department official.

Two days after the Delhi-NCR recorded its worst air quality forcing authorities to shut schools, ban construction activities and declare a public health emergency, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was at 410 at 8:00 am on Sunday, according to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).

Three killed as vehicle falls into gorge on Jammu-Srinagar NH

Three persons were killed and seven others injured on Sunday when a truck carrying a nomadic family skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, police said. The accident took place near village Samroli in Udhampur district around 2 am when the driver of the truck lost control over the vehicle while moving from Srinagar to Jammu with a Bhakerwal family, a police official said.
