Union Minister Nitin Gadkari collapses in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar

Nitin Gadkari was in Ahmednagar for the convocation ceremony of the Mahatma Phule Agricultural University

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday fainted during an event in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar. Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, who was also on the stage, caught hold of Nitin Gadkari. The minister was in Ahmednagar for the convocation ceremony of the Mahatma Phule Agricultural University.

A video shared by local news channel TV9 Marathi shows Nitin Gadkari sitting on a chair and people gathered around him.

"Had slight medical condition due to low sugar. I have been attended by doctors and I am doing well now. I thank all of you for all the well wishes," Gadkari tweeted.

Nitin Gadkari later flew to his hometown Nagpur as per schedule, news agency PTI quoted a close aide of the minister as saying.
