Border Security Forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Keri Sector in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir and killed a militant in the wee hour of Tuesday morning.
According to an official release, around midnight, alert BSF troops deployed at the fence of LoC in Keri Sector, Rajouri observed a suspicious movement of a group of 3-4 terrorist at midnight and organised effective and calibrated fire. “Terrorist retaliated with heavily fire, the cross-firing continued for half an hour,” the release said.
During detail search of area in on Tuesday morning the BSF troops recovered the dead body of a militant along with one AK-47 Rifle and 06 magazine filled with ammunitions at fence on Pakistani side.
The troops also found a black bag containing a water proof, one night vision monocular, one AK Magazine filled with ammunitions, dry fruits, juice, etc.
Remaining terrorists taking advantage of undulating hilly ground and jungle turned back, official release said.
