After the death of over 30 people from drinking spurious liquor in Etah and Farrukhabad districts. BSP chief Mayawati today accused the Uttar Pradesh government of going soft on the officials.
“The liquor tragedy is a fallout of dismal criminal negligence and failure of the Samajwadi Party government,” she said in a release.
Taking a jibe at the UP govt, Mayawati said it is because of the rampant jungle raj that such incidents are happening. BSP supremo also expressed grave concern over the loss of lives. Instead of suspending the erring officials, they should have been dismissed and put behind the bars, she added.
“The action (suspension) taken by the SP government appears to be insufficient..such incidents also take place because those respnsible get away with minor punishment”, the BSP supremo said.
She also criticised the government for the ex gratia of Rs two lakh given to the next of kin of those killed saying it was measly.
