Villagers hurl stones at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's cavalcade in Buxer; 2 police personnel injured

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s convoy was attacked at Nandar village in Buxar district during his ‘Vikas Samiksha Yatra’ on Friday.

Attackers hurled stones at the chief minister and his cavalcade. “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was rescued safely. Two security personnel part of the CM convoy have suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to the local hospital,” said a police officer.

The villagers wanted Nitish Kumar to visit Dalit Basti. However, the CM didn't visit the Basti. Angry villagers including women in large numbers hurled stones and bricks at the CM cavalcade.

The Bihar CM is on a state-wide tour since December 12 to take a stock of state government's development schemes over the years.

Earlier this month, a group of youngsters had waved black flags at the chief minister during a public meeting in Saharsa district.
